Herdina Construction Trades Camp is in full swing

Herdina Construction Trades Camp began last week with a full roster of 24 students!

To date, campers have learned about safety practices, print reading and drafting, building inspections, the science of concrete, masonry and electrical. They have nearly completed building a bathroom facility for Farm in the Dell of the Red River Valley and have been working on building produce stands for the Farm. The rest of this week will focus on insulation, windows, tile/waterproofing, plumbing and HVAC.

Students who successfully complete the camp will receive three college credits. Camp concludes this week with a contractor breakfast June 13 and graduation June 14, both at Minnesota State Community and Technical College.

Your BIA-RRV and Home Builders Care of F-M Foundation are major sponsors of this event which is hosted by M State. Thank you to all the sponsors, volunteers and other supporters who make the camp possible!

High Noon Shootout registration is open with sponsorships available

Join us for this fun networking event Sept. 23 at the Shooting Park of Horace! The High Noon Shootout will consist of two rounds of trap shooting followed by dinner, socializing and prizes. We will end the event with an Annie Oakley competition.

When you register, you will be asked to identify your skill level. We will place you in groups accordingly. You will also be asked to indicate if you have your own gun or if you will need to borrow one.

Association hires Annie Mund as communications intern

BIA has welcomed Annie Mund as their communications intern. Annie is a Fargo native who currently resides in Moorhead where she is working on earning her bachelor's degree in speech, language and hearing at Minnesota State University Moorhead. She is most eager to acquire new skills in the realm of communications while working with a diverse group of individuals within the Association. Annie finds joy in all things communication and writing and is excited to try something new as opposed to her past job history and studies.

Fargo Public Schools seeks shed movers

Fargo Public Schools’ high school construction programs built sheds with the largest size being 10’ x 12’. They are struggling to find transporters to move the sheds to various addresses in Fargo or Moorhead. If you know of someone who could move the sheds, or if you would like more information on this paid opportunity, please contact Idette Graham at (701) 446-1040.
