Building Industry Connect with Moorhead Council Members

Join us in August for an opportunity to connect with newer Moorhead City Council Members! 

In November 2024, three new Council Members were elected and one was re-elected. This event is a great opportunity to get to know them, learn about recent developments in Moorhead and stay informed. As councilmembers confirm their attendance, we’ll update the list below.

Ward 3: Council Member Lisa Borgen (confirmed)

Council Member Borgen is a lifelong resident of Moorhead, a graduate of Moorhead High School, a graduate of Minnesota State University-Moorhead, and earned a law degree from the University of North Dakota School of Law. She served as Clay County Attorney from 1999-2006, District Court Judge in Moorhead and Detroit Lakes from 2006-2013, and most recently was a Vice President at American Crystal Sugar Company in Moorhead, from 2014 through 2024. She serves on the Metro Flood Diversion Authority Board of Directors, Moorhead Clay County Joint Powers Authority, Moorhead Public Service, Legislative Workgroup and is an alternate on the NW Regional Emergency Communications Boards

Ward 4: Council Member Sebastian McDougall (confirmed)

Council Member McDougall earned his Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science from NDSU. He is a small business owner who works as a consultant. He has served on the City of Moorhead Park Advisory Board and the Public Service Commission. He also volunteered for the Moorhead Basketball Association and has been part of Spud Boosters for many years. He serves on the Human Rights Commission, Metro Cog – Planning, Transit Coordination Committee (MAT Bus), Board of Appeals & Equalization, Planning Committee, Clay County Planning Committee and is an alternate on the Park Board. 

The BIA-RRV's Building Industry Connect sessions are a chance for our members to introduce the association and its goals. No presentations, no agendas and no parliamentary procedures. Just the chance for officials and members to learn about each other.

 Admission is $25.
