U.S. Rep. Kelly Armstrong is a co-sponsor of introduced legislation that would allow Congress to overturn the rule submitted by the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Department of Agriculture relating to “Final Determination: Adoption of Energy Efficiency Standards for New Construction of HUD- and USDA-Financed Housing” (89 Fed. National Association of Home Builders Chairman Carl Harris recently testified, urging lawmakers to co-sponsor the bill above. Pictured above is the group of industry leaders from North Dakota who visited Capitol Hill during NAHB's Legislative Conference in June to discuss issues like this with our congressional delegation.

Association seeks communications intern

The BIA-RRV welcomes applications for a communications intern. This person assists with the development and production of the BIA’s communication programs. This includes design, preparation, writing and editing of the organization’s newsletters, brochures, press releases, web content, social media content and advertisements.

 

Deadline to apply is Friday, Aug. 16.

 

Parade of Homes Fall Edition set to feature over 40 homes by 20 participants

This year's Fall Parade will feature over 40 homes by 20 participants. There is limited advertising space available in the Parade of Homes magazine.

 

Capture the attention of consumers by showcasing your business or service in the magazine or on the event website, paradefm.com.

Foundation awards scholarships to area students

Over the course of the last few months, Home Builders Care has awarded $5,000 in scholarship funds to area high school students and graduates.

 

High school students planning to enroll in residential construction trades or a related field at Minnesota State Community and Technical College or North Dakota State College of Science are eligible for these scholarship opportunities. They must provide proof of enrollment within 18 months of graduation.

 

This year's high school scholarship recipients include the following individuals:

  • Cameron Akers, Pelican Rapids M.N., awarded $1,000
  • Gabrielle Pritchard, West Fargo, N.D., awarded $1,000
  • Kaiden Spieker, West Fargo, N.D., awarded $2,000
  • Grace Visser, Ada, M.N., awarded $1,000
