Home Builders Care of Fargo-Moorhead is excited to award $2,000 to Ashten Wolfe and Shler Mohammed of 'Organic Vintage' in winning the Inspired Kitchen Challenge at the Red River Valley Home & Garden Show. Each recipient will receive $1,000 toward their schooling at North Dakota State University (NDSU).
This year, NDSU interior design students teamed up with Accent Kitchen & Bath to reimagine an outdated kitchen. Each team was tasked with selecting products from Accent, designing a mood board and creating rendering of their newly updated kitchen. Show attendees voted for their favorite space during the Home & Garden Show.
Ashten and Shler's kitchen renovation focused on creating a timeless and inviting space with an organic vintage feel. The design featured warm, neutral tones like mossy green and off-white, complemented by walnut-stained wood flooring and cabinetry. Elements such as brass hardware, fluted tile and Calacatta quartzite countertops were chose to elevate the space. Upper cabinets were raised to create an open feel, while a quartzite backsplash extended to the ceiling for a refined look. Key design choices include a custom range mantle, open shelving and three pendant lights.
