The construction manager at Hawthorne Custom Homes is responsible for planning and coordinating all aspects of the construction process starting during the design phase and ending after project closeout. This person will assemble accurate project schedules, uphold the highest quality construction practices while meeting code, and find new ways to create efficiencies within the build process. The construction manager will primarily be involved with new construction homes but is also responsible for maintaining any remodels, renovations, or basement finishes with HCH.


Primary Functions:

  • Daily onsite project management
  • Perform periodic quality control inspections
  • Schedule coordination to make sure onsite conditions are following planned processes
  • Create and foster positive work relationships with subcontractors and vendors
  • Work with Construction Operations Director to ensure all projects are on time and within budget
  • Warranty service after closing
  • Manage multiple builds simultaneously
  • Various tasks as assigned

Job Requirements/Skills:

  • Preferred 2 or 4-year degree in the construction management or engineering field
  • 2 to 4 years of work experience within the construction management field
  • Ability to work under high stress situations
  • Ability to read construction plans and specifications
  • Capacity to handle multiple tasks at the same time
  • Ability to learn to efficiently use construction related software
  • Effective communication skills
  • Team player, willing to help others
  • Ability to complete some manual construction tasks
