Christensen winding down after 40 years with Camrud-Foss

Fun Facts Retirement

After 40 years with Camrud-Foss Concrete Construction, Toby Christensen is getting ready to retire. He joined the Moorhead-based company in 1986 and became a part-owner in 1996.

Camrud-Foss has been serving the Fargo-Moorhead area since 1958. What started as a home-building company has grown into a trusted concrete contractor, working on foundations, floors, driveways, parking lots, patios and other residential and commercial projects.

Toby Christensen, left, and Scott Persoon, right, are both part owners of the company.

Christensen has seen many changes in the construction industry, from new technology and equipment to more opportunities for winter work. Despite those changes, the company’s focus has stayed the same: doing quality work and taking care of customers.

At the end of 2026, Christensen plans to sell his ownership shares and step into retirement. His coworkers say his experience, leadership and attention to detail will be hard to replace.
