Planning, collaboration and an outpouring of generosity came together for a benefit recently held in support of Alden and his family as they continue this medical journey. Over 60 hours were poured into the events preparation, with Cassie Marka of Bell Bank and Brock Goosens of Hawthorne Custom Homes leading the planning efforts.
The event showcased the best of our community spirit with contributions from local businesses, organizations and individuals who came together to support the cause. An array of auction items, from custom vanities to a sump pump installation, were gifted in support of the family.
Some of the highlights from the many generous sponsors:
- Fabricators Unlimited donated a Corian vanity with a seam mount sink valued at $2,000.
- Cullen Insulation offered a professional attic insulation upgrade worth up to $2,500.
- SWI Interiors contributed gift baskets and a custom vanity build with installation, valued at $1,500.
- Superior Plumbing provided branded merchandise and a sump pump with installation, valued at $525.
- The Pines wedding Venue graciously donated their space, staffing and even tips to the cause.
A wine ring toss sponsored by Hebron and desserts from Lawnscapers added extra charm to the evening, while Grain Designs, Livewire Electric, and Heritage Homes drew bidders with items like wine racks, toolkits, and grilling packages.
By the end of the night, the event raised an incredible $7,000. With additional donations that came in due to the awareness generated by the benefit, the total reached close to $10,000.
Although Alden’s parents, Greg and Piper, could not attend, they were deeply touched by the outpouring of love and support. They shared their gratitude through heartfelt messages on calls, texts, and social media, reminding us all of the strength that comes from community.
Alden’s journey is ongoing, but the love and generosity demonstrated by everyone involved have given his family strength and hope. Those who wish to follow his story or continue supporting him can do so through his Caring Bridge page: CaringBridge.
To everyone who contributed—whether by donating time, resources, or their presence at the benefit—thank you for showing what it means to be part of a caring, compassionate community.
