More information:

They are looking for partners to help shape curriculum and explore how to better prepare students for careers in the trades. They're also exploring the addition of a carpentry certificate through North Dakota State College of Science as part of dual-credit offerings.

Why This Matters:

  • This certificate could help
    • Better signal which graduates are workforce-read
    • Accelerate students toward careers or degrees in construction technology or management at NDSCS
    • Provide employers with job candidates who have already met a higher academic and technical bar
    • Students who complete the certificate would finish high school with 17–18 college credits, covering areas like rough framing, finish carpentry, interior/exterior construction, construction math, and technical communication.

BIA members are invited to fill out the survey to:

  • Indicate interest in the advisory committee
  • Provide input on the potential value of this certificate
  • Share feedback that could help FPS align better with industry needs
