Habitat for Humanity Fargo Moorhead Area debuts new name at Hard Hat Breakfast

Fun Facts

On Tuesday, May 12, more than 200 local partners gathered at Bell Tower for the inaugural Hard Hat Breakfast, an event that raised funds for 2026 home builds and marked the debut of a new name: Habitat for Humanity Fargo Moorhead Area.

The name change was made to more clearly identify where the organization operates and who it serves. While “Lake Agassiz” holds historical significance, it has often been confusing for partners, spanning a region served by multiple Habitat affiliates. By linking its identity to the Fargo-Moorhead metropolitan area, Habitat for Humanity Fargo Moorhead Area aims to clearly communicate that its work is focused on building homes and serving communities across Cass and Clay counties.

The transition is already underway, though remnants of the previous name will remain in some places through the summer.

Most importantly, the change is in name only. The organization remains as committed as ever to building hope, opportunity and affordable homes.
