That’s a wrap on our first golf outing of the summer and it was a strong start to the season!
Despite the cold and rainy weather, the June Golf Outing brought another successful tournament to the Hawley Golf and Country Club, with 144 golfers competing for the BIA of the RRV Golf Tournament Champs trophy.
A big thank you goes out to our tournament sponsor, Forest Products Direct, and our eagle sponsor, Cass County Electric Cooperative. We also sincerely appreciate our major sponsors and hole sponsors. Your support made this event possible!
We’re incredibly grateful to the volunteers who helped with set-up, lunches, tear down, and everything in between. Thank you to Emily Gunderson, Sarah Dolyniuk, Joyce Balstad, Irena Johnson, Cecelia Jorud, Shannon Stumpf, Dylan Maas, Robert DuVan, Alijah Karsky, Rick Lemke, and Heather Breckheimer. Your time and effort are truly appreciated!
This year’s tournament winners were Mike Renfrew, Dan Florhaug, and Stue Lamp of Lawnscrapers LLC, along with Reid Anderson of Enclave Development & Construction. The team received the traveling trophy and a cooler full of goodies.
The Great Ball Drop ended in an exciting tie for the grand prize. Both Eric Gilles and Jenna Aanden had golf balls land in the hole, resulting in a split grand prize of $940 each. Tanner Olson also received a prize, as his ball traveled the farthest from the hole.
We had a variety of prize winners throughout the day. Adam Braunberger of American Federal won the Red Dot game and received a portable speaker. Derrick Ellingson from Ellingson Companies took home a cooler with goodies from the OECS giveaway. Blake Lukach won the ABC Supply prize, a patio heater. Christian Nasset of Simonson Lumber won the PWBC prize, a summer splash-themed cooler. Nick Gordon from Choice Bank took home the HBC prize, a cooler full of goodies. Joe Striegel of Dakota Construction won the Forest Products Direct cooler.
The outing was also a strong day for fundraising. Home Builders Care raised a total of $5,620, with $3,960 from the Ball Drop Raffle and $1,660 from their hole game. These funds support scholarships, community projects, and workforce development, all helping to grow our industry. Over $1,900 was raised for NDAB-PAC to support housing and business-friendly candidates in North Dakota. The Professional Women in Building Council also raised more than $1,000 to go toward scholarships for young women pursuing careers in the building industry.
Thank you to everyone who came out and made the day a success! We look forward to seeing you at the July Golf Outing!
