On Thursday, Oct. 24, Pope Design Group gathered with clients, partners, and staff to celebrate a major milestone, 50 years of design excellence. This anniversary event marked a remarkable journey that began in 1974 when Bob and Jon Pope launched a small firm in St. Paul, Minnesota. Known back then as Pope Architects, they started with just four employees and a vision to create spaces that enhance lives. Today, Pope Design Group is a leader in architecture and interior design, with over 85 professionals shaping communities across the country.

From the beginning, the firm stood out for its client-centered approach and commitment to impactful design. Over the years, they grew steadily, adding team members and expanding into new areas while staying true to their values. In 2022, Pope Architects rebranded as Pope Design Group to reflect its collaborative, transformative mission.

Now structured into six specialized design studios—Affordable Housing, Senior Living, Healthcare, Community & Education, Workplace, and Industrial & Manufacturing, Pope Design Group is licensed in 37 states and serves as a trusted partner across the Midwest and beyond. Their designs continue to inspire, using innovative, quality-driven approaches that impact communities nationwide.
